I worked as an art restorer on this model ship series by repairing each ship through cleaning, painting, recreating broken pieces. The works in this series all represent vessels that have carried refugees across waters throughout history.  Many of them have reached fearful ends and are thus more notable and known by name.  Each piece is a handmade wooden model of a specific migrant boat, crafted from photographs pulled from archives, news and media. Each boat is titled after the name of the vessel and the year it became relevant.
